India to station indigenous AEW&CS at Bhisiana

The Indian Air Force has selected Bhisiana Air Force Station to station its indigenous Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEWACS) based on the Embraer ERJ 145.

Out of the three aircraft, only two will head to Bhisiana while the third will remain at Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS) in Bengaluru for development work.

Indonesian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshall Agus Supriatna said the KC-130B that crashed in Medan had experienced an engine trouble in one of the engines on the starboard side before going down.

The aircraft hit several antennae along its flight path before crashing, Supriatna added.
