The India-U.S. joint working group on aircraft carrier technologies had their first meeting in the United States on Aug 12-14. The delegation, lead by Vice Admiral SPS Cheema, also went to see the Gerald Ford aircraft carrier that is under construction.

U.S. will withdraw Patriot missile battery from Turkey too

The United States will withdraw its Patriot missile battery deployed in Turkey this October for “critical modernization upgrades,” a joint Turkish-U.S. statement said.

The move follows Germany’s decision to withdraw its unit when the mandate expires in January next year.

The Philippine Air Force will take delivery of eight Bell 214EP and two AW-109E helicopters at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City today.

Japanese man’s 70 years quest to locate family members of B-29 crew

A B-29 bomber was shot down over Tokyo on Apr. 2, 1945. None of the eleven crew members on board survived, a Japanese farmer and his son gathered the remains of the crew and buried them in their own ancestral cemetery.

After the war, his son traveled to the United States several times to locate the family members of the crew and fulfill his father’s dying wish to bring those families to the crash site.
