RoK Army Special Warfare Command wants an aviation unit to infiltrate North Korea

The Republic of Korea Army Special Warfare Command (ROK-SWC) said in a report submitted to the National Assembly’s defense committee that it wishes to set up a special unit to deal with Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons, long-range missiles and other strategic assets during war time.

In order to achieve those objectives, it requires the setup of a special aviation unit to boost its infiltration capabilities.

Rescuers continue search for missing RoCAF AT-3

Search is still on to locate two crew members aboard a Republic of China Air Force AT-3 jet trainer that went missing on Sept. 22.

Besides helicopters, the air force had activated a E-2 and a RF-5 to help locate the jet, #0851.

First South Korean mission commander for Red Flag-Alaska

At Red Flag-Alaska last month, Maj. Seo Jae-kyong became the first South Korean pilot to take charge as mission commander during the exercise.

Textron AirLand president Bill Anderson told Flight Global that his company is trying to get the U.S. Navy interested in its Scorpion jet.

The U.S. Navy is trying to get its pilots to be mission ready without having them clock flying hours on their fighter jets.
Anderson revealed that the service also values the Scorpion’s potential as a maritime airborne platform for sensor and weapons testing.

Three F-16s from Edwards Air Force Base have arrived at Joint Base Lewis-McChord to participate in aerial refueling tests with the Boeing KC-46A.
