Indian Air Force chief says he is willing to accept other “Rafale type aircraft”

Speaking to reporters ahead of the Air Force Day on Oct. 8, Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha said he is willing consider other type of fighters to fulfill a requirement for six MMRCA squadrons.

Raha was replying to questions to whether New Delhi would consider another fighter besides the Rafale to fill another four squadrons.
“There are alternatives. I cannot say I only want Rafale. I want capability of Rafale type aircraft. So the government will have a look at it and based on urgency and the type of contract is signed with Dassault Aviation, further decisions may be taken by the government. I cannot predict,” he said.

Slovakian MiG-29 went to museum in Prague

A MiG-29 from Slovakia has found a new home at the Military History Institute in Prague.

The museum traded an Ilyushin Il-28 bomber for the jet. It has a serial number 2960526380 and it came out of the the Znamya Truda factory in Moscow on Jun. 14, 1989.

North Korean freight train carried materials to launch site

The intelligence agencies of Japan, South Korea and the United States have confirmed that a North Korean freight train transported unknown materials to the Tongchang-ri launch site recently.

During the last long-range rocket test by North Korea in 2012, a freight train carried those rocket parts from the same factory in Sanumdong to the launch site in North Pyongan province.

BAE Systems selected by Boeing to develop EPAWSS

BAE Systems has been selected by Boeing to develop the Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS) for the U.S. Air Force’s F-15 fleet.
