6th Fleet returning to Cold War practice of emissions control

Adm. Mark Ferguson, head of Naval Forces Europe, was invited to speak at the 2016 Surface Navy Association symposium and he told attendees that the four U.S. destroyers based in Rota, Spain have turning off radars and reducing communications while underway to better mask their location and profile.

PLA Marine Corps deployed to Xinjiang for the first time

People’s Liberation Army Navy Marine Corps based in Sanyan, Hainan was transported to Xinjiang in the western part of China this week. This is the first time that Chinese Marines have been deployed to Xinjiang.
