Britain to remanufacture 50 WAH-64s to AH-64Es
The U.S. Congress has been informed on a potential FMS to remanufacture 50 British WAH-64 Mk 1s to AH-64Es. The estimated cost of the deal is around $3 billion.

F-35A vs A-4
Six A-4s from Draken International took part in an operational test exercise for the F-35A of the Royal Netherlands Air Force at Edwards Air Force Base from Aug. 17-28.

Belarus orders four more Yak-130s

India seeks price extension for Apaches and Chinooks again
India is asking the United States to extend the prices for buying 22 Apaches and 15 Chinook helicopters for the 13th time. The U.S. Ambassador to India Richard Verma had already warned India that it would not be possible to give yet another price extension beyond Aug. 31.

Philippines asked U.S. to deploy patrol planes to escort resupply missions in South China Sea
Philippine Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin said he has asked visiting U.S. Pacific commander, Adm. Harry Harris Jr., to deploy U.S. patrol aircraft when the former do resupply missions to the Second Thomas Shoal.

Gazmin added that such requests had already been fulfilled earlier when a Philippine boat delivered supplies last year to troops stationed on board a rusting ship there.

RAAF Hornets in Indonesia for Elang Ausindo
Eight F/A-18s from the Royal Australian Air Force are in El Tari Airport in Kupang, Indonesia for exercise Elang Ausindo. The exercise started on Aug. 21 and will end today.
