U.S. Marine officials said at the 2015 Sea, Air and Space conference that current Amphibious Assault Vehicles will soldier on for another decade.

The service has decided to postpone a decision on a new high-water speed amphibious vehicle until 2025.
As a stopgap, the Marine Corps is toying with the idea of using Landing Craft Air Cushion to bring the new Amphibious Combat Vehicle to within 12-miles of the beach.
