India will stick to government-to-government for future Rafale purchases, signaling end to MMRCA

India’s Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar said Apr. 13 that future purchases of Rafale fighters will also be through government-to-government negotiations.

Although he stop short of saying the negotiations for the MMRCA contract is over, the new announcement had signaled the end of commercial talks.

Parrikar also made known that the MiG-21 will be replaced by the indigenous Tejas fighter and the Rafale will be used for strategic missions.
