MTU has been awarded a £68M contract to supply all the Type 23 frigates of the Royal Navy with new four new diesel generators. The electrical power generated from the new generators will be channeled thru an upgraded distribution system.

Hitzinger UK will provide voltage converters to increase the power from these generators.
The entire project will take nine years to complete.
