Indonesia declines Singapore’s offer of C-130, CH-47 to help fight forest fires

Indonesia has declined Singapore’s offer of a C-130 for cloud seeding in fighting forest fires on the island of Sumatra.

Singapore also offered to send a CH-47 equipped with a water bucket for aerial firefighting. And up to two C-130s to ferry a fire-fighting assistance team from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) to provide assessment and planning assistance to Indonesia.

India wants to have its test pilots evaluate PAK-FA

India has asked Russia to allow its test pilots to fly the PAK-FA in order to truly evaluate the jet’s capabilities.

This will help India to formulate the plan to develop a fifth-generation fighter aircraft (FGFA) with Russia based on the PAK-FA.

Pentagon may reactivate hangar in Iceland to operate P-8A there

U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Bob Work was in Iceland recently and he mentioned the possibility of reactivating a former P-3 hangar to support future P-8A operations out of Keflavik.
