Apache pilot is one of two women to graduate from Ranger Course

For the first time, two women will join their male counterparts in graduating from the U.S. Army Ranger Course on Aug. 21. One of them is a Apache pilot from the 1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Aviation Regiment, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division.

Indonesian Navy taking delivery of 2 CN235s by end of the year

The Indonesian Navy will take delivery of two CN235 maritime patrol aircraft by end of this year, PT Dirgantara Indonesia revealed.

Two more will be delivered to the Air Force around February, March next year.

Australia’s 2015 Defense White Paper delayed by two months

Canberra is late in publishing the 2015 Defense White Paper by two months, Defence Minister Kevin Andrews didn’t want to confirm the new date but promised to deliver a “credible, fully-costed White Paper and doing so in a considered and methodical manner.”

Lockheed Martin working on stealthy U-2

At a media event to mark the 60th anniversary of the U-2 program, Lockheed Martin revealed that company is working on an optionally-manned successor to the spy plane.

The new plane will utilized the same GE F118 engine and operate from 70,000ft and above. The key distinction is that it will be able to survive in hostile environment thanks to a low-observable airframe.

Denel to test Marlin BVRAAM next month

Denel to test Marlin BVRAAM next month

Next month, Denel Dynamics will flight test of its Marlin beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM). The test next month will be a fly-over test.

This will be followed by a seeker head test in November. Jaco Botha, the program manager, said the first guided test will be in November 2016.
