Philippine Air Force flew media on UH-1s to prove that the Hueys are safe

The Philippine media were allowed to fly on board UH-1 helicopters on Jul. 14 at Camp Aguinaldo by the military in order to prove that the Hueys are safe.

Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin organized the flights after allegations that he had received kickbacks for buying UH-1Ds and that they were unreliable.
“We want to clarify certain issues coming out in the media. So we thought of bringing these seven UH 1H helicopters and two UH 1D to see their capabilities,” Gazmin said.
