South Korea to deploy M-SAM this year
South Korea has completed testing of the Cheongung or M-SAM air defense system and will deploy it by end of the year.
The Defense Acquisition Program Administration says it will start deploying the system to replace the MIM-23 HAWK at the Air Force from September.

Israel to active first F-35I squadron next week
The Israeli Air Force will activate the first F-35I (“Adir”, Hebrew for Mighty) squadron at Nevatim Airbase next week.

Residents living in the town of Toyoyama, Aichi Prefecture, Japan are split over a plan by the Aichi prefectural government to display a Mitsubishi Zero fighter as part of an aviation industry exhibit.

Some old folks are against the move as they had suffered during the Second World War then the government forced them to vacate their land and help construct the Imperial Army Air Service’s Komaki airfield.

Boeing’s new CEO Dennis Muilenburg has appointed Scott Fancher, vice president of airplane development, to oversee the troubled KC-46 aerial tanker development program.
