USAF Weapons School to issue patch for enlisted graduates

For the first time, the U.S. Air Force Weapons School will award a graduate patch for those who completed the Joint Terminal Attack Controller Weapons Instructor Course and the JTAC Advanced Instructor Course.

This is the first time in the school’s 66-year history that enlisted graduates are given a patch.

Israel hopes Croatia would be interested in acquiring its surplus F-16A/B fighters. If selected, IAI will upgrade the jets to the ACE configuration which will have a EL/M-2032 radar and 5 x 7in color displays.

U.S. Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard KC-135s to get anti-missile system

Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $31.7 million contract to deliver three anti-missile system pods for the U.S. Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command’s KC-135 aircraft.

The third-generation pod is based on the Northrop Grumman Guardian system, which is derived from the Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures (LAIRCM) Block 30.

JMSDF P-3C deployed to Palawan, Philippines for first time; to fly over South China Sea

For the first time, Japan has deployed one of its P-3C maritime patrol aircraft to Palawan, Philippines for an exercise. The aircraft, along with 20 personnel arrived on Jun. 21.

Today, the aircraft from JMSDF Kanoya Air Base will take along Philippine military personnel for a search and rescue exercise in the South China Sea.

Apache teams up with MQ-1C to fire AGM-114

AH-64s from the U.S. Army’s 1st Battalion, 3rd Aviation Regiment, 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) conducted manned and unmanned teaming (MUM-T) with a MQ-1C from Company E, 3rd CAB for a AGM-114 live-fire exercise.

During the exercise at Multi-Purpose Range Complex on Fort Stewart, the Gray Eagle positively identified the target, laser designate it and was engaged with a Hellfire fired from a Apache.
