USAF to fit high-power microwave package on JASSM-ER

The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory has decided that the JASSM-ER missile is the platform to fit the Counter-electronics High-powered microwave Advanced Missile Project (CHAMP) payload.

CHAMP allows a warplane to launch a standoff attack on the enemy’s electronics systems with bursts of high-power microwave energy.

U.S. official ‘misspoke’ about B-1B deployment in Australia

A spokesman from the Australia Department of Defense has clarified that Assistant U.S. defense secretary David Shear had ‘misspoke’ on the deployment of B-1 bombers to Australia during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing.

“We are aware of the comments made by a U.S. official in Congressional testimony overnight. The U.S. government has contacted us to advise that the official misspoke.”

Indonesia working on procurement plan for ShinMaywa US-2

Indonesia is working on a procurement plan with Japan to buy the ShinMaywa US-2 amphibious plane.
