MQ-4C flew with MFAS radar for first time

Flight testing of the MQ-4C Triton with its main sensor, the Multi-Function Active Sensor (MFAS) AESA radar, has started on Apr. 18.

The radar was switched to its primary operating mode, known as Maritime Surface Surveillance (MSS), during the flight over Patuxent River.

B-1B, LRS-B to come under AFGSC

The U.S. Air Force’s B-1B bomber fleets and Long Range Strike-Bomber program will move to the Air Force Global Strike Command from Oct. 1.

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark A. Welsh says the shift to bring all long-range strike aircraft under a single command will bring “better coordination and increased sharing of expertise across the five bomber wings.”
