The process of converting a decommissioned oil platform into a forward operating base will be completed next month, Malaysia’s Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein confirmed.
The platform will eventually be placed in the Sulu Sea east of Sabah to guard against intrusions coming from the Philippines.
