A fire broke out on board USS Gunston Hall during a maintenance availability in Portsmouth, Virginia. Firemen managed to put out the fire after battling for three-hours.

The ship’s in-port emergency fire team was assisted by members of the Portsmouth Fire Department.
The fire was declared as a Class Alpha fire and fought mainly with water.
